D. Shivakumar (Shiv) is Managing Director and Vice President for Nokia India.  In his role, Shiv is responsible for growing Nokia’s mobile phones business in India while providing strategic direction and operational focus.  Besides working at consolidating Nokia’s market presence, he also focuses on building the Nokia brand, driving partnerships and strategic alliances and developing the capabilities of the Nokia organisation in India.

Shiv has over two decades of experience in the consumer market in India. The bulk of his experience is in marketing and general management. Prior to joining Nokia, Shiv was heading Consumer Electronics business for Philips India as Senior VP and Executive Director on the Philips India board. Prior to that he spent several years with Hindustan Levers in various sales, marketing and business head roles and his last assignment in Levers was heading the Hair Care business. Shiv has been with Nokia since 2006.

Over the years, Shiv has been able to chart an excellent track record of managing businesses, people and customer relationships and has gained a good understanding of the changing needs of customers and a wealth of experience in delivering solutions.

Shiv holds a degree in management and engineering and is passionate about writing and teaching.
