Founder and CEO of Regency Direct Marketing & FinewinesnmoreDharti Desai is the Founder and CEO of Regency Direct Marketing, India (RDMI, founded in 1997) and Finewinesnmore (FWM, founded in January 2007), both located in Mumbai, India.
Dharti saw the potential India had to offer much before the outsourcing boom and established a pioneering position for RDM in direct marketing in India and significantly heightened the company's prominence within the industry since 1997.
She has been the key architect in setting the overall strategic direction of the company, sourcing key clients and vendors, working with local nuances of the country and facilitating the integration of direct marketing, consulting and bank card syndication.
The latest addition to her entrepreneurial and investment portfolio is FWM. She started the company in January, 2007 and has conceptualised, researched and set up a strategic communications platform for FWM besides introducing a wine club portal concept which will take fine wines directly to consumers.
This portal serves as an educational and interactive tool for consumers, from a novice to a connoisseur. The wine club will leverage the group company’s 10+ years of valuable direct marketing experience in India.
She is also the President of D. D. Worldwide Marketing Corporation, located in New York City. The company provides consulting and creative copywriting services to its clients in six countries. The company also engages in investments and joint ventures in mail order and other projects around the world.
Dharti has been invited as a speaker to conventions of the Direct Marketing Association (DMA), USA and is the author of “DM in India Guidebook”, co-sponsored by the DMA. She is a member of the DMA, the International Council of the DMA, the Direct Marketing Ideas Club of NY and also of the Asian Women In Business, NY.
She is a graduate of Wilson College, Mumbai University (India), and divides her time between her homes in New York and Mumbai. As a successful entrepreneur, Dharti will make a significant and valuable contribution to the panel discussion at Leaders in India.
